Reimagining the User Experience for an Educational Platform & Private Knowledge Base
Skillo is a leading Hungarian educational platform that supports parents in child development, built on decades of professional expertise. As the Digital Product Architect, my role involved a complete brand visual refresh and a comprehensive UX/UI overhaul of the private membership system (The Club). The project focused on simplifying complex user journeys, reducing churn, and establishing a trust-building, professional digital ecosystem.
Goal
To modernize Skillo’s digital presence and increase the efficiency of the membership system (The Club). The objective was to create a visual and structural environment that projects professional credibility and a warm, supportive atmosphere while providing a clear path for customers.
Challenge
The primary difficulty stemmed from system complexity: users were getting lost between the subscription-based membership and individual course purchases. Confusing navigation led to high churn rates. Additionally, the previous, overly playful brand identity needed to be repositioned toward a more professional yet friendly direction without losing its personal touch.
Outcome
We established a research-based, logical information architecture. Within the redesigned private interface, users now know exactly where they are and what they can access. By renewing the design system (colors, shapes, typography), Skillo transformed into a premium yet accessible expert brand. The clean course and presentation templates not only improved the user experience but also streamlined administration for the owner.

Solo Product Architect (Collaborating with a Behavioral Researcher)

A critical point of the project was halting user churn. Working closely with a behavioral researcher, we analyzed user journeys and identified the specific moments where parents felt uncertain. I translated these research findings directly into the interface designs: eliminating navigational dead ends and creating a clear visual hierarchy. This structural intervention not only boosted user satisfaction but also had a direct business impact on membership retention metrics.
Skillo’s core values are professional credibility (special education) and the supportive warmth of a parent community. The initial moodboards and style studies aimed to move away from the previous 'playful' aesthetic toward a more premium, expert look. The new color palette and the rounded yet disciplined forms convey a clear message to parents: they are in good hands, within a community that is professionally unquestionable, yet human and accessible.
Although the project was implemented within an existing WordPress environment, I delivered a comprehensive, Figma-based design system (UI Kit) as a Digital Product Architect. This system includes all reusable components, typography sets, and icon libraries. This ensures that creating future subpages, course presentations, or downloadable materials remains simple and consistent for the client. My goal was not just to deliver a 'finished drawing,' but a toolkit that sustains Skillo’s visual quality in the long run.
